Step 10 : Day 3 : Bangkok

Day 3 : Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Royal Thai Handicraft Center, Susie Walking Street and Khoasan Road

Not able to sleep well last night. Weather was hot and the room was equipped with just one ceiling fan. Middle of the night, could heard the birds making sound as well...so scary but my hubby slept like a pig liao. Never ever get a non air-cond room next time.

So tired...still need to wake up for the next interesting tour to the Damnoen Saduak Float Market @ Ratchaburi; the best known floating market which is 109 kilometres southwest of Bangkok or approximately two hours drive. The market is from about 8 a.m. until noon only.

So we woke up at 6.30 am, get prepared and bought our breakfast @ 7eleven. Waited our tour agent's van infront of the hotel @ 7.30am. Few luxury vans already awaited there...but not from the Mama Tour...our agent. All the luxury vans gone, and lastly the Mama tour van came...an old and dirty van but luckily got air-cond. Cheap cheap tour for 300 Baht per person...so van provided also "lau ya lau ya" (old).

Reached around 10am.The driver didn't stopped at the floating market but to a remote village house to take the paddle boat.

The best way of appreciating the floating market is to take a paddle boat ride through the canal to savour the smells and sounds as well as the sights.

Saw the life-style of the villagers...

Reached the floating market...so jammed.

The long-tail boat, another option of transportation...

Becareful with your fingers and hands...the boat may crash each others.

Just saw and bought nothing caused the things over there quite expensive.

Faces of the peddlers.

Visitors from all walks of life...

Snapshot from top view...

Baby elephant walked around for attraction and donations...

Thailand's pencake...

Having the lunch at the market before back to Bangkok... Food expensive as well. 125 Baht just a plate of mix veges with chicken rice and a tin of pepsi.

Moved out from the market @ 12 pm for another short visit to Royal Thai Handicraft Center (RTC) in Ratchaburi as well. The craft center is more to wood craving.

This was the old van we travelled on...with air-cond water dropping on my head. Aiyah...quite uneasy experience as well because driver cannot understand English and what ever we asked and requested he just ignored. We heard 2 passengers inside the vans said in cantonese (most properly from Hong Kong) "Hou ji mai ju chai" (Feel like been sell by the driver). Hahaha....

Back to Bangkok @ 2.40pm. Drivers just simply dropped us to a roadside near Khoasan Road and not infornt of the hotel. We complained...but he just replied "Walk, walk, walk...". So we just walked lor. On the way...we had a look at the Susie Walking Street...street selling handicraft, bead accessories, leather accessories...etc.

After another lunch again...we back to Lamphu House. At the time we reached...they already helped us to move our luagage to a big air cond room. This 2 double beds deluxe room costed 940 baht per night.

We really really tired...and the hot weather gave us a headache. So we just bathed and had a good sleep...and cancelled the rest of destinations on out itinerary;
1. City Paraphet Phrakan
2. Wat Ratchanatdaram & Loha Prosat
3. Lucky Buddha Temple
4. Wat Benchamabhopit (Mable Temple)
5. King Rama V Monument
6. Anantasamakhom Throne Hall
7.Golden Mount
For us...it was okay to cancel the above destinations since most of them are temples and monuments. We felt that most of the Thai temples look alike.
When we woke up...time already for dinner. So bathed again to refesh ourselves. Back to Khaosan road again for dinner. Spotted this Thai restaurant behind the Khaosan Road...we had pineapple fried rice, mango salad and my favaurite Tom yum. Cost only 140Baht. Good food and cheap too.

Again we continue to hunt for food...
Colourful sweet deserts..
Thailand orange juice...

Yummy Thai-style bubur cha cha...

The porridge seller...
Must try it out...yummy.

On the back to the hotel...saw a pair of couple on the world tour using motorbike and asked for donation. We didn't donate ...we thinked better save for our own for our next tour...hahaha.

The view of Soi Rambutri...with happening night life.

Lamphu House's Cafe and Tours counter.

Internet surfing corner. Tonight quite free and relaxing since we cancelled our afternoon itinenary. So internet-surfing for an hour while transfered our photos from memory card to thumb-drive.
