Date : 13 December 2009
Location : Penang & Butterworth

Itinerary:

It was Sunday. Together with our moms and my niece we went to Penang. The main purpose was to visit hubby's aunt in Butterworth. Since the Kek Lok Si pavilion had been opened to public recently, we take this opportunity to have a visit too.

Traffic already jammed far away before reaching the Kek Lok Si's foothill. So sien...

In the boringness of the traffic jam, suddenly my niece shouted : "Niu Niu (Cow)". Far away, she already saw some Indians pushing the decorated cow cart carrying Hindu Deities. There was a praying ceremony for the Hindus at the near by temple.

Took more than 1 hour to get the parking. After parked our car, we took the Inclined Lift to the new Pavilion with the Kuan Yin Statue.

Jam in the lift as well.

Finally we reached liao...

The old Kuan Yin fibre statue was built earlier in 70s.

The new 20-storey high pavilion, built to shelter the new Goddess of Kuan Yin statue.

Souvenirs at Kek Lok Si...

The panorama of Kek Lok Si.

As usual, we back to the mainland with ferry.
The view of Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower from the ferry terminal.

Tow Boo Kong Temple at Butterworth, the place recommended by aunt for the evening visit. The place quite near to aunt's house.

The temple was built by devotees' donations.

Everything looks like antique and unique.

Felt like in China...

Having a good time with aunt and dining together before back to Sungai Siput and Ipoh.
Overall Expenses $$$: RM250
